Vassilis Polyzos, Woozy Sun

Woozy Sun

at least for the next hour
we’ll entertain great hopes
that our expatriate brother
the collector of mushrooms
will return to the fatherland
rich in static electricity

one of the co-crucified will speak for him
pointing to the sunken trees
to the hairy roots that move sluggishly under water
like nets

we are confident he will not fear
the deceitful beacons and the shoals
except for those
he carried within himself through the terminal phase
id est
unknown words growing in shadowy places
beyond the scale A to Z
whistlings of nostalgic trains
distorted poems in concave mirrors
that is
nothing that can’t be cured
by burning incense to St Logic

yet…
